Introducing Panoply Visualizations

Are you using the Panoply platform and want faster insights into your data? Now you have them! Last week, our team released in-platform visualizations, and we’re pretty excited about it.

When working in the Panoply workbench, users can now see query results instantly in three chart formats: pie, bar, and line. This cuts time to insights dramatically. We know you might have some questions about this new feature, so we’ve answered them below:

Does this replace my BI tool?

No. While our visualization function isn’t intended to fully replace your BI tool of choice, it does provide quick insights and a “gut check” to make sure you’re on the right track with your data.

What was the motivation to develop this feature?

In-platform visualization was always on our radar. Fast data visualization is what analysts want when using the product, and we want to make our users’ lives easier. The goal here was to make it simple to get fast metrics and dashboards, and allow you to go from zero to practical analytics right in the platform

Is there a learning curve?

No! Zero learning curve here. Simplicity and ease-of-use have been longtime Panoply pillars, and we made sure it was no different for visualizations. You can transform your SQL query results with a click of a button.

Any upcoming additions?

Absolutely! Our end goal is to give you the ability to save your charts into reports that you or your team can view later on. We’ll also add functionality to combine multiple charts into a dashboard or multiple dashboards and share those results, insights, and KPIs across the organization.
